Blue Star Families and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) welcome you to the National Capital Region! Join us as we celebrate all that the DC area has to offer with a very special Blue Star Welcome Week Family Day at Mallows Bay Park & Marine Sanctuary.

You and your family won’t want to miss the opportunity to explore one of our region’s most amazing outdoor experiences. Did you know there are over 100 sunken ships in Mallows Bay? Participants 12 and older will have the chance to join Atlantic Kayak and tour the sunken fleet. Our younger friends and those who prefer to stay on solid ground can experience the shipwrecks and marine sanctuary through virtual reality (VR) at the NOAA mobile classroom.

Spend the day taking part in a wide range of activities including guided hikes, arts and crafts, lawn games, button making, marine life exploration, and much more.

All registered guests will receive a yummy BBQ lunch by Smoker’s Delight and each household will receive a Blue Star Welcome Week Gift Bag.
