Join us for a scenic 9-mile train journey to the summit of Pikes Peak, a breathtaking 14,115-foot National Historic Landmark.
Please note:
Families will be traveling to 14,115 feet above sea level. Regardless of age and fitness level, lightheadedness and disorienation can occur at this elevation. Children or people with existing health issues and people who cannot communicate their symptoms should proceed with caution. Families should stay hydrated and drink lots of water. The Cog Railway is not recommended for infants under the age of 6 months or anyone with a history of cardiac or respiratory problems. Individuals should consult with their physician prior to visiting if they have concerns.
Families must arrive at the Manitou Springs Depot at least 30 minutes prior to departure time. The train will begin loading 20 minutes prior to departure time. There are no restrooms on the train. The only restrooms available are at the Depot and at the Pikes Peak Visitor Center at the top. The Railway charges $20 for their parking lot and on street parking. The Iron Springs Chateau and Barr Trail Lot cannot be utilized by Cog customers for parking. Off-Site Paid Parking at the Manitou Hiawatha Gardens can be used and families can shuttle up to the depot. There is no storage for strollers. When you are at the summit of Pikes Peak, you can expect the temperature to be about 30 degrees cooler than it is at the Manitou Springs Depot. Anticipate all 4 seasons.
